I read Gail Sheehy's first book, Passages - or at least her first book that came to my attention - back in the early '80's, and it hit home, quite literally, fueling a process of introspection that eventually led to fundamental changes in the way I viewed the world and my place in it.

I don't remember that being part of her message.

But of course, that book is now nearly two-score years on the shelf, so it's quite possible that Ms. Sheehy has something different, something more, to say for herself, to us.

And equally possible that we have something more in our hearts and minds for her to speak to.

I'd suppose.
