The cynics in the RealPolitic club - and many on the Right - long ago embraced the notion, with or without holding their noses, that if you have to live with a son-of-a-bitch, it is better if he is your son-of-a-bitch, not someone else's.

The Muslim Brotherhood types understood and understand that, too.

The Left doesn't get it, still.

Or at least not before it's too late, and then, of course . . .
